  1.Improve the students’ reading ability of travel leaflets.

2. Get the students to know how to make a travel leaflet.

3. Instruct the students to love nature and our country.

教學(xué)重點(diǎn)

  1. Get the students to have a clear understanding of the structure of a travel leaflet.

2. Enable the students to know how to make a travel leaflet.

教學(xué)難點(diǎn)

How to help the students finish the task through proper guidance.

教學(xué)過程:

Step 1  Lead-in

Show the students some beautiful pictures of Shangri-la on the screen

Step 2  Skim and answer (pay attention to the subtitles): How many parts make up this leaflet?

Step 3  Listen and answer:

1. Where is Shangri-la?                 2. How can you get there?

3. Who first talked about Shangri-la? And what does the word Shangri-la mean?

4. What will you see in Shangri-la ?       5. What’s the weather like?

Step 4  Read the passage again and find out the writing features of a travel leaflet.

• brief introduction of the place

the way to get there/ the transportation

• history and origin of the name of the place

• description of the scenery of the place

climate of the place

Step 5  Produce:

Make a travel leaflet about the place you would like to visit most. We have done planning and preparing. There are 5 minutes for the students to produce.

Step 6 PresentAs a presenter , we should present the topic very clearly .Our presentation should contain the best part of resources and art works. Meanwhile, we should pay attention to our spoken English and manners. As an audience ,we should not only listen ,but also make comments on the presentations.

Step 7  Summary

Step 8 Homework:

1. Post all the travel leaflets in our classroom and read each other’s travel leaflets.

2. Finish D1 and D2 on page97 in the workbook..
